2015 TH 9 Upgrade Priority: When and What to Upgrade First

This article will talk about the newest Town Hall 9 upgrade priority. It includes both farming base and trophy base, so the priorities will be different.

When to upgrade to Town Hall 9:
Farming Base:
When all your Walls in TH 8 have maxed out you can upgrade to TH 9. Because when you upgraded to TH 9, you can unlock Archer Queen, who is far more effective in protecting resources than Barb King.
Trophy Base:
When all your buildings in TH 8 are maxed out. All troops in the game will be unlocked in TH 9 except the Freeze Spell.That means you can play a lot more troops combo than in TH 8 .
Note: If you aren’t patient enough, try to max the following troops first before you upgrade to TH 9:
– King (you’are gonna need all your dark elixir to upgrade the Queen in TH 9)
– Balloon
– Giant
– Hog Rider
What to upgrade first when you reach TH 9?
Overall upgrade priority for both TH 9 Farming and Trophy base:
These buildings are necessary whether you want to grab resources or climb trophies. Mark them atop your upgrading list.
– Queen (most players would have stored enough dark elixir to unlock the Queen before they upgrade to
TH9, and that’s effective )
– Spell Factory
(Spell upgrade: level 6 Healing Spell
Dark Spell upgrades: level 3 Poison Spell, level 3 Earthquake Spell
Dark Spell unlocked: Hase Spell )
– Lab
(Once you upgrade to level 7 lab, you can upgrade basically every type of troops and unlock a few:
Elixir troops upgrades: level 6 Barbarian, level 6 Archer, level 6 Giant, level 6 Balloon, level 4 Healer,level 4 Dragon
Dark Elixir troops upgrades: level 5Minion, level 5 Hog Rider, level 3/4 Valkyrie, level 3/4 Golem
Dark Elixir troops unlocked: Witch, Lava Hound )
– Army Camp
(When all 4 camps are upgraded to level 7, you’d have 220 troops)
Farming base upgrade priority:
Defensive Bulding
-X Bows (unlocked in Town Hall 9, it’s a brand new defensive structure that shoots rapidly, and has the
longest range of damage, a strong addition to your defense )
– Wizard Tower
– Hidden Telsa
(the above two are great in defending resources)
– Mortar
-Air Defenses
– Cannon
– Traps
Troops and Spell upgrade priority:
-Giant
– Barbarian and Archer
– Spell
– the rest
Trophy base upgrade priority：
Defensive Bulding
– Clan Castle
– Air Defenses
– Giant Bombs (good for dealing with Hog Riders)
– X Bows
– Wizard Tower
– Hidden Telsa
– Mortar
– Cannon
– other Traps
Note:
-increasing your cc size enables you to fight like a TH 9 instead of TH 8, so if you are looking to 3 star other TH9, upgrade CC first;
– level 5 Mortar,which maxed out in TH 8, can mow down level 6 Archers in one hit, so you don’t need to rush to level 6 Mortar if you are a trophy base. Because level 7 Archers, which require TH 10, are far beyond your level and wouldn’t attack you in most cases.)

Note: level 6 Giants improve amazingly.
Note 2: When upgrading “the rest”, arrange order depending on your favorite attack strategy.
